About me…
Hello and welcome to my site…I’m a multidisciplinary artist based in Abercynon, South Wales, UK.I’m passionate about many different outlets for expression. These include traditional and digital drawing, painting, mural art and animation. I also write and perform Spoken Word poetry, Haiku and Flash fiction.After working in the Animation industry I moved into collaborating and taking part in group art exhibitions and commercial work while living in Scotland around 2011.I moved back to Wales with my family in 2021, shortly after the birth of my little boy and the completion of my MSc in Animation. I currently work part time teaching drawing and animation at college while developing my knowledge and artistic style.
Art
Through my art I try to capture movement and action with the use of dynamic angles and strong poses, giving a nod to my interest in Cubism and Futurism.I believe in the importance of strong draftsmanship and try to practise drawing daily. Words
I’ve been writing, recording and performing Spoken Word poetry for around seven years now. Nothing has come close to the authenticity and catharsis I feel when expressing myself through this medium.I also enjoy writing Haiku poetry. The elegant simplicity of stripping back sentences to a bare minimum and conveying the most meaning with the least amount of words - the antithesis of what I’ve just written :DThis led me to try my hand at Flash fiction which I also really enjoy…I have written three poetry books, and recorded a collection of poetry to music as well as an audiobook.
